LEARN-TO-FLY CURRICULUM

An 8-Unit comprehensive curriculum package that addresses essential concepts
of DRONE TECHNOLOGY and includes FLYING ACTIVITIES that are aimed at
enhancing student skills and understanding.

NOTE: This 8-Unit curriculum duplicates some of the content (handouts, activities, quizzes, etc.)
found in the FULL 16-UNIT "Design" CURRICULUM. While this 8-Unit curriculum does not incorporate
the engineering design process, it is perfect for certain situations as a stand-alone option.

Units 4 & 5 focus on progressive indoor activities intended to enhance flight skills. The toy
drones recommended for the "Learn-to-Fly" curriculum are intended to be flown indoors only.
Because the flying occurs indoors, these units are not under FAA oversight.

Unit 1: Safety First
Unit 2: Overview of Drones
Unit 3: Basics of Flight
Unit 4: Beginning Flight Skills
Unit 5: Advanced Flight Skills
Unit 6: Common Sense Flying
